Why Hello…

Hello world! Before I started writing this post, I considered just picking back up from where I last started (ummm, December 2011??) and throwing a Weekend Wrap-Up just like the old days. But that would be rude. A lot has happened in the past few as most of you know. Bizzle and I (and Poppy Stirfry) welcomed our little girl in February. It’s been a whirlwind and I never knew I could be so happy and love a tiny, little creature so much.

But let’s backtrack a bit. I found out I was pregnant about a year ago and I vividly remember the day that I informed Bizzle that he was going to be a father. After confirming twice that I would begin eating for two, I had about an hour to come up with a creative way to tell him. So when he came home from work that day, I asked him to check out our bathroom saying that Poppy had an ‘accident’. Instead of bracing for a messy cleanup from our pup, I left out the positive pregnancy tests on the counter and wrote a note on our chalkboard ‘we’re going to have a baby’ with the date. (I never claimed to be an event planner). We laughed, hugged and from that moment on, our lives revolved on preparing for this little miracle.

I had a pretty normal pregnancy in my opinion. No odd cravings but 2 things I could always eat no matter what time of the day or how many days in a row I had them were pizza or a Jimmy John’s Turkey Tom with BBQ chips (sometimes Salt and Vinegar). I ate so much pizza. So much. When the time came to find out if our baby was a boy or girl, we chose not to find out during the ultrasound but rather asked the technician to write it on a note on which we had both written down our guesses. We opened it together that evening over dinner and found out that we were both right! A baby girl!

One of the best things about being pregnant? Maternity pants – oh how I love my maternity jeans, yoga pants, even work pants. So so comfy and they help keep everything ‘together’. I read in a magazine that Christina Applegate still wears hers because they are so comfortable.

One of the fun things we decided to do was take a month by month picture to chronicle the pregnancy. Wearing the same shirt and pants, we took the same picture in the same part of the house, dragging Poppy into each picture.

p.s. Who is into Game of Thrones? It’s been on our tv the entire time while writing this but I have not glanced at it for more than 3 seconds. It’s just not interesting to me but Bizzle watches it religiously every weekend and I understand it has quite the following. I on the other hand CANNOT wait until Homeland comes back on tv. Super bummed its not coming back til the fall. Who knew that Claire Danes could top My So Called Life?

p.p.s. I got a lot of ribbing from friends for dropping the ball on this blog so I’m going to make an effort to post more frequently. Thanks for visiting!
